The GAM3 Awards 2024 finalists have been announced, with Epic Games Store’s hit game Off The Grid dominating the selection process. The $5 million prize pool underscores the ambitions of the GAM3 Awards as they gear up for their first-ever physical ceremony in the Philippines.
This year’s GAM3 Awards will be held in partnership with Yield Guild Games (YGG) as part of the YGG Play Summit, highlighting the Philippines’ role in the web3 gaming landscape. YGG Co-Founder Gabby Dizon expressed excitement about hosting the event in Manila, emphasizing the importance of putting gamers first.
In addition to YGG, GAM3S.GG has partnered with Arbitrum, Magic Eden, Immutable, Avalanche, and Skale to enhance the event. Since its inception in 2022, the GAM3 Awards have become a significant event in the blockchain gaming industry, recognizing top games and creators across various genres and criteria.
Last year, the GAM3 Awards saw over 450,000 votes from 50,000 unique voters, with the ceremony attracting a large online audience. Winners shared a prize pool of $2 million, with the web3 trading card game Parallel receiving multiple awards, including “Game of the Year.”
This year’s awards will feature all categories from the previous edition as well as two new categories: Best Ecosystem and Best Browser Game, bringing the total to 21 categories. Exclusive trailers and announcements from leading studios will be showcased, offering attendees a glimpse of highly anticipated web3 games in development.
Over 70 prominent figures from traditional and blockchain gaming will participate in the event, including representatives from major companies like Amazon, Google, Samsung, Ubisoft, and more. The voting process for most categories involves a mix of jury and community input, with some categories entirely community-based.
The nominees for Game of the Year include Off The Grid, Pirate Nation, Parallel, Nyan Heroes, and Pixels. Voting will take place from Oct. 15 to Nov. 15 on the GAM3S.GG platform. The prize pool for this year has been increased to $5 million, highlighting the event’s commitment to supporting the future of web3 games.
