A person opened fire inside St. Francis Health System Hospital on Wednesday, June 1. Several victims were hit by the shots and “some were unfortunately killed” according to Richard Meulenberg, captain of the police. A first assessment reports three dead. “Police forces continue to inspect every room in the facility for possible threats,” authorities said. Captain Meulenberg evokes a “catastrophic scene”.
The shooter died, but police did not release the circumstances of his death.
St. Francis Health System hospital was confined on Wednesday afternoon after the first shots in a breast surgery and medicine building. A large police force had been deployed on the spot.
